Refurbishment and renovation
There are several ways to avoid accidents at heights when renovating facades, renovating or maintaining roofs and decks. We highlight the following:
Edge protection and access systems for roofing work
In these solutions, workers can be secured without scaffolding, at lower cost and faster.
- RAND & RAND PLUS: Perimeter edge protection with safety nets. Thanks to its innovative fastening system, it can be used on practically any building structure, whether metal structures, concrete structures, wood, etc. It is particularly suitable for roof and facade renovation works in urban areas, as well as in singular buildings. It allows the use of a double net: safety net + mosquito net or fly net.
- Flex B-27100 Post for roofs with cornices: This edge protection post is fixed at the bottom and is depth adjustable so that it can be fixed to concrete cornices, stairs, terraces or balconies.
- FLEX B-2755P Roof working platform with perimeter protection: This perimeter protection post slides on its base and allows the creation of working walkways to secure roof work.
Safety nets
The range of safety nets is very wide. In renovation work, the following are commonly used: Vertical nets in accordance with UNE 1263-1 U-System, mosquito nets, anti-crash nets and shading nets.
- Vertical nets: Nets used for vertical building envelopes, from slab to slab and vertical nets for scaffolding. EN-1263-1 U A2 M100 Q.
- Mosquito nets: Lightweight, fine mesh nets used to prevent dust and small material from falling. Available in various weights, sizes and colours. Usually sold in rolls or sewn into safety nets.
- Anti-crash nets: These nets are made of polypropylene or high tenacity polyamide with small mesh sizes. They are placed over the safety net. The purpose of their use is to prevent the fall of rubble on site or smaller tools that would fall with a 100 mesh net (10cm).
- Shading nets: These nets are very dense and are used as a barrier against sunlight, dirt or cold. They have eyelets on the sides that allow them to be quickly attached to scaffolding. There is a wide variety of models.
Anchorage points
Systems that allow the securing of the worker in rehabilitation works.
- Textile anchorage point with mechanical fixing: Anchorage device to be installed with a mechanical anchor in reinforced concrete structures. Ceiling or wall installation. Steel ring for attachment of the harness lanyard.
